Metrical Poetry

Metrical Poetry

I recently signed up to join the metrical poetry group, ~PenWieldingPoets. For this I am supplying a list of the metrical poetry in my gallery. Sadly I don't have much up yet, but that should change soon.

The Ship - Rictameter Form. One of my first pieces using a specific form/meter. I suppose this one isn't really a regular metrical poem, but it has a certain syllable count and line length that a writer must keep to.

A pair of idle sparrows - Bref Double. Much better than the previous poem, in my opinion, this follows the french form 'bref double' and is written in iambic tetrameter.

Metrical Poetry - A tutorial. Comments and crits on this would be appreciated.

Metrical poetry is something I'm very much a beginner with, so bear with me while I experiment with forms and meters and hopefully I'll get some more work up soon.

my dear, i too am quite interested in dreams and psychoanalysis. y'know, there's a great website you should check out called dreammoods
do you keep a dream journal? lol i used to ages ago...i remember i had one where a bomb was about to go off in my school, and everyone was running away. for some reason there was a hotdog stand in the middle of the quad, and as i was running, i grabbed one and started eating it. yeah, go figure lol.

anyhow, about freud...i've read a basic guide to freud and his works, and while some of his theories make sense, i find that others seem iffy. i think carl jung (a disciple of freud) has expanded and created some theories that are more credible. maybe you'd like to check him out.

i'm glad to find there are others who are into this sort of stuff.

Oh wow thanks, I will check out both that website and have a look into Carl Jung's work. I did used to keep a dream diary, when I had trouble remembering them so that I could analyse them later...I find now, though, that if as soon as I wake up I lie there and think about them for a while I manage to remember them very easily. It's like logging dreams into my concious mind rather than just keeping them back in my subconcious, and then trying to drag them up again later and being unable to remember much. That dream you had sounds crazy :D

See you around, thanks for the interesting comment :)
Wow, this is a great entry!!

I am really interested in dreams and the understandings and theories behind them, so twas most interesting to read :claps: I shall also check out Carl Jung and the other site.

I try am trying to keep a dream journal, online. Seeing as I always go into more detail when I type and when I journal on paper I get lazy. Should be most insightful to try and analyse them me thinks.

=)

Thank you ^^ I'm glad to see people are actually interested in my ramblings, hehe :D I also get lazy when writing things out, I find it a lot easier just to type it all :P

Thanks for the comment =]
I adore ramblings...

Some of the best books i've read are my favourite simply because the characters thoughts/ideas/views/perceptions are so defined.

I am devwatching you missy!! hehehe, you are a little gem!
