-21-
four blossoms fall
in reverse –
dancing butterflies
-20-
on the terrace
a dead pigeon...
we suspect fowl play
-19-
playing badminton
a butterfly
chases the shuttlecock
-18-
side by side
two pensioners
rev their scooters
-17-
empty field
the last strands of barley
in the wind
-16-
in the garden
flying dirt
and a dog’s bottom
-15-
morning alarm –
the screeching of a red kite
-14-
sunset on the pier
swallows dance away the day
-13-
a tiny wasps’ nest
crushed
underfoot
old memories
swept away
-12-
swifts chasing
clouds chasing
swifts
-11-
high noon
heads of barley bow low
-10-
squabbling
in next door’s garden
two fat birds
-9-
lavender
in full bloom –
a bee on every stem
-8-
afternoon walk
two dachshunds
dash around
-7-
dawn mist
over the hill
a crow clears its throat
-6-
in the tall grass a cacophony of crickets
-5-
enjoying doughnuts
on the pier
thieving seagulls!
-4-
among the reeds
flashes of electric blue –
dancing damselflies
-3-
a new day...
balloons and flowers
begin to wilt
-2-
breakfast on the terrace
bees flit from flower
to flower
-1-
thunderclouds
split open
by the summer sun
four blossoms fall
in reverse –
dancing butterflies

Cuts
Dyke.
Fag.
Queer.
Words I've come to know as name.
They jeer and they push and they taunt.
I give them no tears, no blood, no hurt.
I remain as sturdy as stone.
Underneath I am crumbling.
Do they know each word is a cut?
A mentally inflicted wound?
With every sharp letter,
I am left with another hurt to heal.
What does it matter?
Why should I care?
Their ignorance should not bother me.
But it does and it will, forever.
I am still a person.
Still worth the attention and voice of any other.
But they don't care.
I'm worthless, useless, beneath them.
I'm gay.

Quote
Why are you crying?
**I've lost something**
What did you lose?
**nothing becasue it never existed in the first place**
Than why are you sad?
**becasue nothing was everything I had**

Scars
I didn't do it to hurt you
Or to make you mad at me
I didn't do it to show you
The emotional side of me
I did it only to remind me
Of things that shouldn't be
Of pain I've had
Of love I've lost
And what someday
Will be
The scars I hide
For none to see
Are worse than these my dear
And in my heart
The scars I hide
Are the only thing I fear

Update 21st August - it's been a busy week, so my last few entries have been a bit rushed I'm afraid. Perhaps there will be something there worth refining at a later date.
